Steiner Conducts Survival Training at Camporee

Attorney R. James Steiner, a former Green Beret, conducted survival training for 70 Boy Scouts as part of the fall camporee attended by some 300 scouts from 13 troops around central New Hampshire.  The scouts learned to build a shelter and camp without a tent or sleeping bag, start a fire without matches, cook a meal without utensils and find north without a compass, among other skills.  The temperature the night of the training was in the mid 20's.  All of the scouts completed the training and received their wilderness survival merit badge.  To read more about the camporee, go to the Wannalancit District BSA site at: www.dwcbsa.org/districts/wannalancit/index.html
